This was the long awaited ‘top of the table clash’ with the visitors really needing to take something from the game if Knutsford weren’t to go 9 points clear with 14 games played and 14 remaining.

You would have been mistaken if possibly you feared a dull low-key start to the game after the enthralling Derbyshire Cup game last Tuesday.

Darryl’s team selection and his opportunity to make any significant tactical changes during the game were somewhat restricted by the fact that 2 regular senior players, Gregory & Kay, were unavailable on the night; unfortunately Gemmill & top scorer Joe Burges weren't 100% either and also had to revert to the bench alongside promising youngsters Dan Connell and Jacob O’Donnell.
