Reddish Romp

It was an uneven contest when Whaley Bridge U18 travelled to Reddish North End for a cup tie. The home side could only field nine men, and Whaley made them pay when Jack Howell bagged a brace inside 8 minutes. Ole Madden got a trademark header shortly afterrwards, and when Ethan Williams scored the goal of the game and Nathan Wild executed a neat finish, it was a more than comfortable 5-0 lead at the break. The second half was very one sided, though the attack minded Reddish 9 tested Ash Blackham in goal on a couple of occasions. Howell went on to score 7, whilst Wild got a second and Kieran Connell also scored two. Will McIlveen and Alfie Hodges got one each, but the biggest cheer was reserved for Ben Pickard who converted a penalty. 16-0 was the final score, and we look forward to a sterner test in the next round.
