Failure to attack the ball at corners gifted Nomad’s McGregor 2 first half goals with the first deflected into goal off his back! Failure to attack the ball in the air squandered at least 3 first half sitters for the home side although Centre back Rob Newton did briefly level the scores at 1-1, rising at the far post to head in from yet another corner. Tom Scorer came close minutes later when he cut inside only to see his low shot from 18 yards pushed around the post by keeper Connelly.

So at half time the visitors went in 1-2 up having on occasion played some decent football but having created virtually no chances other than the 2 opportunities gifted from corners. Whaley by contrast weren’t at their best, struggling to retain the ball, but still created far more chances with the vocal Connelly also ding well in goal for the visitors.

Second half continued much like the first until Whaley suddenly cottoned on to the fact that if things didn’t change the visitors would escape with all 3 points. There was a noticeable change in attitude and tempo instigated by a disallowed Whaley goal, a home side hand mistakenly adjudged to have touched the ball instead of that of a visitor's!

Lee Morris and Dan Gilbride on after an hour provided a bit more control to the play; Lee was unlucky on a couple of occasions but contrived with Sutton to create havoc down the right until ultimately Joe Burgess forced the ball home a couple of minutes before full time to level the scores. Nomads were now being pummelled but from a home side point of view the spark came a too late to take all 3 points.

Whaley have now drawn one more game than they did all last season but still remain unbeaten along with Knutsford and Rylands.
