10th place Whaley travelled to Daten one place above them on a bleak winter’s afternoon; prior to this game the home side were 4 points up on their visitors.
Not too much to report but, without playing well, Whaley still managed to clinch a win to make it 13 games undefeated. A goal down through Daten substitute Andrew Hodgkinson on 65 minutes the visitors responded with two good goals in quick succession around 75 minutes from Aaron Dwyer - the only real highlight in a dour game played in freezing cold and wet conditions.
Young O’Donnell started, Owen Peatfield made his 1st team debut on 60 minutes and Matt Baldwin joined them 10 minutes later; so three 16 year olds bodes well for the future.
