WBAFC is proud to announce that it has achieved FA 'Community' Charter Standard effective from Dec 1st 2010.  There are about 600 clubs in Derbyshire and WBAFC now joins an elite group of just 11 to be awarded this the highest status.  A "fantastic achievement" according to the DCFA's Football Development Officer Liam Rooney and well deserved recognition for all those who give of their time freely to put WBAFC firmly in the nation's top 300 best run clubs.

The FA Charter Standard Club Programme was established in February 2001 to provide recognition that clubs are well run, sustainable, with child protection and safety paramount.

It also recognises the club’s commitment to coaching, player and coach development and the raising of standards of behaviour in the game.

FA boss Bernstein comes to Whaley.

The Football Development Strategy 2001-2006 highlighted the importance of club development and of the need to develop a more effective Club structure.  It stated that ‘The Football Association must support clubs who have the potential to develop a number of teams, providing ‘football for all’ and ‘football for life’.’

The FA Charter Standard Club Programme now has three levels:
● FA Charter Standard Club
● FA Charter Standard Development Club
FA Charter Standard Community Club.

Thanks to Sam Bracy, CWO, for all her hard work on the application
